Public Service Sector Education and Training Authority The Public Service Sector SETA, more commonly referred to as the PSETA, is one of the few existing sector education and training authorities (SETAs) that is not going to be changed or revised in any substantial manner. But the PSETA is a bit different to the other SETAs because it provides support to provincial governments rather than industry sectors. More specifically, it is aimed at providing support to provinces that were lumbered with huge backlogs from the previous government (or dispensation).

The Company was established with the intent to focus on providing Skills Development services in the following areas:

  • Training and Development interventions
  • Facilitation of training interventions
  • Skills Audit
  • Psychometric Assessment ( Registered Educational Psychologists)
  • Monitoring and Evaluation of training programmes and implementation

Sector Skills Plan (SSP) Research and WSP analysis

  • Conduct Desk Top research to identify all the subsectors within the Sector and their respective role players and key partners who may contribute to an excellent SSP update
  • The priority skills within the subsectors and the sector as a whole
  • Map out the demand and supply within the sector while also identifying the scarce and critical skills as well as the priority skills
  • Update Sector Skills Plans for SETAs
